When the world around you is chaotic, it is easy to feel out of balance and that you exist outside your place of balance.
Peace amidst chaos
When you center yourself, you reflect back to, or place, yourself in a peaceful reference point; your center. Here, you are familiar, here, you experience warmth, tranquility, and a sense of overall well-being. Your center is where you find your balance. We are not always focused and in our center throughout our days. We must work at it to sustain our very presence there. However, you deal with a plethora of situations in your daily routine that might take you out of balance. When chaos swirls around you, place yourself in the safety of your center to find your place of peace.
Accessing your center
There are several ways to access your center; your place of balance and peace.
Through meditation. Daily meditation balances out the negative emotions you experience through daily activities.
Deep breathing exercises. Simply inhale slowly while counting to three, exhale slowly and release negative emotions on the count of three, and then hold your breath while slowly counting to three.
During your deep breathing, remove yourself from the midst of chaos and imagine stepping into your center.
What awaits you in your center?
In your center is a feeling of thankfulness, warmth, and a happy state of being. This helps you forget and release the stresses of the day and takes you back to your center. Consider the words of a noted teacher; “Whether you meditate on the inside of a cave or in the middle of a city, you should always be able to find your center because it is not based on factors outside yourself.” -A great meditation teacher
