The market is bursting with all-natural skincare products. But what could be more natural than using simple foods right from your kitchen? This DIY facial scrub is an easy way to freshen up your skin. And the best part? It literally uses only two ingredients. Yep that’s right. Two.

All you need to make this simple scrub is sugar (any kind will do) and honey. The sugar acts as natural exfoliant, clearing away dead skin cells and leaving you with a nice glow. And while you might be wary about the honey part, don’t be! Honey is naturally moisturizing, antibacterial, and anti-inflammatory. It doesn’t clog pores and you’ll be pleasantly surprised at how soft it makes your skin feel.

To make the scrub, mix the two ingredients in a small bowl or dish. We recommend the following ratio:

1 tbsp. sugar
1 tbsp. honey

When it’s mixed, work it into your skin using small circular motions. When you’re done, wipe away with a warm wash cloth.

Tips:

-Be sure you use raw, organic honey. Other kinds may have additives that won’t do any favors for your skin.

-If you like, add a drop of essential oil for a nice scent. Lavender oil and rose geranium oil are considered to be mild enough to safely use on skin.

-Before applying to your face, always test any DIY concoction on a small portion of skin first to make sure you don’t have any sensitive reactions.
